FERRET IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULE
Most ferrets from a pet store or breeder have already received one or two vaccines, so check to see what vaccines they have received (and dates given) at the time of purchase. Ferrets are more susceptible to vaccine reactions than cats and dogs so we often will pre-medicate them with Benadryl at the time of the vaccine appointment. You should watch your ferret for a couple of hours after the vaccine and call the veterinarian right away if you do notice any signs of a vaccine reaction (example: extreme lethargy, hives, vomiting, etc.).
